Basic Cardiac Life Support AED (BCLS+AED) (Theory Only) aims to equip participants with CPR skills and relief of foreign body airway obstruction for adult and infant casualties. The course will also teach you on how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) on an adult collapse casualty.

This asynchronous eLearning course is targeted for dentists and healthcare professionals who are exempted from the practical components of the BCLS+AED course (Refer to SDC's requirement for dentists here: Refer to SDC's requirement for dentists here)

Please be advised that the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC) only accredits the full BCLS+AED course (which includes both theory and practical components). As this programme is a theory-only eLearning course, it is not accredited by SRFAC. However, the content of this course is developed in alignment with SRFAC guidelines, ensuring that learners gain accurate and relevant theoretical knowledge.

Upon registration, your enrolment is valid for 10 days. Please complete your course within this timeframe.

At the end of the Basic Cardiac Life Support+AED course, the trainees will gain theoretical knowledge for:

• Demonstrate Adult, Child and Infant CPR competently
• Use the AED safely and effectively
• Perform Conscious Foreign Body Airway Obstruction Protocol on Adult, Child and Infant competently
• Perform Unconscious Foreign Body Airway Obstruction Protocol on Adult, Child and Infant competently
• Place casualty in Recovery Position
